Every year a whole lot of garbage gets blown into Little Lake and collects on the shoreline. Most of this garbage is plastics from single use water bottles, plastic bags, and plastic lids.

The main reason that all that garbage ends up in Little Lake is because all the garbage cans are collected and put away for the winter. Peterborough is a very active city with paths that are used all year round.

PETERBOROUGH WATER REFILL STATION
Peterborough has city run water parks in the summer and skating rinks in the winter. Its time that we added a water refill station so everyone can refill their water bottles while exploring our amazing city instead of purchasing single use bottles that end up in Little Lake.
We propose 3 filling stations located in Millennium Park, Jackson Park and at the new park on Charlotte St.
